Ranch But Make It Plant-Based
because we put this stuff on just about everything now - and i'm here for it
oh ranch… the dressing we love to slather on just about everything from carrot sticks, wanna be healthy salads and oh yes — pizza !

now i do like ranch but to be honest i am not obsessed with it. not enough to dunk my whole slice of pizza into it — no shade if that’s your thing. i respect the admiration of sauce as a sauce girly myself. when it comes to dressings i think its so fun to make them from scratch and put your own personal spin on it. i would say this is a pretty classic ranch dressing recipe and i think the fresh dill, parsley and chives really make all the difference.
you can use store bought plant-based mayo and sour cream or you can experiment making your own. either way the ranch will come out tasting yummy so i attached those links down below just in case.
Ranch Dressing
yields approx. 1 cup
1/2 cup - plant-based mayo
1/4 cup - plant-based sour cream
1/4 cup - lemon juice
1/2 tbsp - plant-based Worchester sauce / or soy sauce as a substitution
1 tbsp - freshly chopped dill
1 tbsp - freshly chopped parsley
1 tbsp - freshly chopped chives
1/2 tsp - onion powder
1/2 tsp - dried dill
1/2 tsp - dried parsley
1/8 tsp - paprika
salt + pepper to taste
What you will need:
a bowl and whisk
measuring cups n spoons
a mason jar or bottle to store the dressing
cutting board and knife
Step 1 - Mise en place
There is nothing worse than going to make something and realizing you don’t have the stuff ! First things first gather your mise en place grabbing all the needed equipment. Measure out the needed ingredients and chop all the fresh herbs.
Step 2 - Mix and make the dressing
In a large bowl mix together the plant-based mayo and sour cream along with the lemon juice, Worchester sauce, herbs and seasonings. Give this a good mix and then save in a container and pop in the fridge to set and be used later. I like to store dressings in a mason jar or glass bottle but any food safe vessel will do. Any left over dressing can be enjoyed for about 5 - 7 days after the day its made.
